It was a blast
The best kind of in-person CE is a class that helps the student learn a new skill and be able to reproduce the skill on Monday. With the Baard in-person prep course, you will be confident to prep an overlay/onlay preparation the following Monday, along with temporization and cementation. Dr. Schiffenhaus is an engaging lecturer, but he doesn’t talk all day. He creates a good balance between lectures, demos, and hands-on practice. His passion for the subject is evident and you can’t help but become passionate for adhesive dentistry with him. I highly recommend the class to anyone who wants to start their journey in adhesive dentistry.
Great hands on training
Excellent balance of hands-on and informative foundational instruction. I met some really awesome docs from all over the country. Hanging out after the class was just amazing. During the course we used good 2-tone teeth that cut really nice and we used some great electric hand pieces. I got some great bur exposure to which burs can help you achieve the shapes and geometry we are going for with an overlay preparation. Course provided a good Biomimetic restorative dentistry foundation with concepts like cusp preservation and immediate dentin sealing. The compression dome concept was key to understanding why and how to biomechanically design our preps for glass ceramics. In addition to this hands on training I am also a member of the online BAARD institute and am completing training with the Allemans in their BRD mastership. This course is a great hands companion to all of the great knowledge and study I’ve been exposed to over the past year!
Excellent hands on course and an introduction to Biomimetic Dentistry!
I was introduced to Dr. Steven Schiffenhaus’ instagram page through Dan Clementino from Kuraray. I started following his live videos and work and fell in love with his knowledge. I had to take his course. It was my first exposure to Biomimetic adhesive dentistry. I love doing cerec and this made perfect sense for me. Steven is very knowledgable, down to earth and a compassionate human. He knew I had a lot of questions and he took his time to explain me and clear my doubts. The course overall prepares you to be conservative in your approach, do excellent work and be proud of the work you do. I came back from the course and the following week I did 2 overlays both on #15. One of them was so hard that I would have never attempted if I didnt take this course. I felt proud of the work I did and felt my white coat as a cape for being a super dentist for this young patient. I would definitely recommend this course to everyone.
In the evening Steven had planned a gun shooting activity. I had never held a gun in my hand but it was so much to finally get out of my shell and learn that art as well. Cannot thank him enough for the opportunity.
Excellent
The BAARD hands on course was everything I expected and more. Steve has a great presence as a speaker and kept some of the important literature and science from bogging down the days. He presented his prep protocols in a way that creates a recipe for success and repeatable results. I found that the other doctors were all extremely knowledgeable in the arena of Biomimetics and yet they were also learning just as much as a novice. The accommodations were comfortable and the catering was very good. Overall I found the course to be professional and well organized, but Steve is such a personable guy it didn’t feel stuffy or over the top. I would highly recommend this course for doctors who want to improve their skills or those just beginning to get into the world of adhesive dentistry.
