Glass ceramics in the posterior are becoming the norm in our profession. The leading cause of failure of these restorations are fracture. When these restroations are prepared & bonded properly they have very high long term success rates equaling or surpassing that older metal based indirect restorations. Dentists can often struggle with adequate material thickness and/or proper preparation forms. The purpose of this course is to teach the prep requirements for various types of glass ceramics as well as workflow and armamentarium to ensure a predictable and repeatable workflow chair. The bulk of the day will be dedicated to hands on preparation practice on multi-layered typodont teeth that closely mimic real teeth. Crown, Crownlay/Overlay, Onlay, & Inlay designs will be taught and practiced. Students will leave with access to online demo’s & lecture for review after the course.
